Mbithe Muema is a senior capital markets professional with over 20 years of experience spanning investment banking, market development, and institutional engagement across Sub-Saharan Africa. She currently serves as Head of Training, Special Projects & Research at CPF Consulting, where she leads the design and delivery of bespoke, market-led capacity building programmes tailored to institutional needs. Her work is focused on translating market practice into practical learning—bridging the gap between policy, transactions, and institutional execution.
She designs programmes that equip organizations with the tools, frameworks, and applied understanding required to engage effectively within their mandates, particularly in areas such as capital mobilization, infrastructure financing, and investment decision-making. Mbithe previously served as Group Executive Business Coordinator, where she played a central role in coordinating high-impact executive initiatives and institutional deliverables. Notably, she served as Head of Secretariat to the Committee of Experts (CoE), leading the coordination, synthesis, and delivery of the CoE Report on financing frameworks and domestic capital mobilization.
This experience now directly informs her work in training, bringing a dual lens of policy and execution. Her approach is deliberately experiential, drawing on real transactions, institutional case studies, and practitioner insights to move beyond theory and into application. Prior to CPF Consulting, Mbithe served as Chief Business Officer at the Nairobi Securities Exchange, where she was instrumental in advancing market development and product innovation. She contributed to building the foundation for key listings and capital market structures, including pioneering work in REITs and Sukuk.
Mbithe brings together insights from both the public and private sectors to understand institutional challenges and design targeted training solutions. She is deeply passionate about financial empowerment and institutional capacity building.
